Sorry for the delay in new news, it's been an odd week. Kathy and John are stable for the moment, but clean up-efforts need to start soon, and they will have to pull pretty much every piece of burned debris out of the hole and have it trucked to a toxic waste dump a significant distance from Almora. It's going to be time-consuming and expensive, and they could use any assistance they can get. After this task, they will begin the planning involved in rebuilding.
I'm still getting a surprising number of questions about how to get donations and assistance to them, and the news today is that there is a benefit fund set up at Wells Fargo called the "Almora Fire Benefit Fund" that you can send to electronically from any WF account online, or in person at any Wells Fargo branch. Below you'll see the remains of the Olesen/Nordquist photo collection...which turns out to be one singular button/pin from my 6th grade football pictures.
